Scott #406 [1912 2c carmine Washington, Type I, Perforated 12, Flat Plate, Single-Line Watermark] Mint WITHOUT GUM, with Superb centering. Wonderfully rich color and fresh appearance. While this is a common stamp with normal centering, example with centering this nice are hard to find. The lack of gum certainly reduces the price, but if you only collect the front of the stamp, this is a great opportunity. (Scott 2024 graded value for Mint Hinged with gum is $70 for Superb.)

Scott #408 HORIZONTAL PAIR [1912 1c green Washington Imperforate, Flat Plate, Single-Line Watermark] Used horizontal pair with VF or larger margins; huge margins on three sides. Two-line "Glastonbury / Conn" (inverted) cancellation normally used on parcel and third class mail; this is an unusual style of cancellation for this 1-cent stamp design (the perforated versions were mostly used on post cards but this imperforate version is mostly found with machine cancels or circular, dated town cancels). While the Scott value is very modest for used pairs of this stamp, interesting, nicely canceled examples are surprisingly hard to find.

Scott #408 Yellow Green [1912 1c green Washington Imperforate, Flat Plate, Single-Line Watermark] Mint Hinged, with VF margins and centering. Horizontal pair with vertical guideline. Scott #408-409 were printed in sheets of 400. They were available both in panes of 100 and in full sheets of 400 (which were used by makers of private vending machine coil stamps). The sheets divided into panes of 100 were cut along vertical and horizontal guidelines which were terminated by arrows in the margins. Arrow-margin examples can be hard to find, especially in used condition and on cover. Because of the availability of the full sheets of 400, guideline pairs and blocks are available and are avidly collected. (Most guideline SINGLE stamps were used for postage and Used single examples were often discarded, rather than going into collections.) I think that collecting the different guideline positions and multiples is quite challenging and rewarding. This is the Yellow Green color, one of three colors listed by Scott (there is also Green and Dark Green). Very attractive.
